Universitas Indonesia: Traffic congestion solution

The Faculty of Computer Science UI was in collaboration with the International Office UI (UI Creates Program) arranging a Field Trip to Fasilkom UI on 9 – 19 April 2018. Students and lecturers from Coventry University (England) in the field trip were: Carl Chinedu Egonu, Kelly Tarawally, Kishan Gautam Ambasana, Yashi Gupta beserta Dr. Vasile Palade and Dr. Ma. On 10 April 2018, UI-Creates with Coventry University was officially opened. Mr. Ari Saptawijaya, Ph.D. greeted the guests with welcome and opening remarks (Study Program Coordinator of Computer Science Universitas Indonesia). After the session, the students and lecturers of Coventry University attended Batik Workshop, Arumba and Bahasa Indonesia Sessions. Following the sessions, the traditional dance was performed to Coventry University people.

The other agenda of this field trip was the industry visit. Lectures and assistant lecturers of PPL (on the job training) subject in Fasilkom UI invited their Conventry University guests to pay a visit to Kata.ai company. The company operates in Natural Language Processing (NLP) which produces chatbot intelligence for business necessities, from consumer service, trade to market campaign. Reynir Fauzan (CMO Kata.ai), Pria Purnama (VP Engineering Kata.ai), Gelar Pradipta (Product manager Kata.ai) and Ikmal Syifai (Senior Engineer) were as hosts to deliver their presentation to the visiting audience.

The second day, the students students and lectures also joined another industry visit to Bukalapak. Bukalapak stakeholders shared how to process their software engineering, improvement software engineering and technology to run their company. The other agenda was the visitor from Coventry University received an opportunity to come to see Happyfresh technology company. During their visit in the Happyfresh, the host shared their insight on how tech-product team works, then on product processes and improvement of technology.

Later, on 17 April 2018, Coventry team discussed about Global Software Development with Mrs. Betty Purwandari, Ph. D. (Head of Master Program in Information Technology, Fasilkom UI). The discussion continued to ideation topic joining them the Fasilkom UI and Conventry students to establish ideas for a mobile application. Then,

on 18 April 2018, PPL-Fasilkom UI and Coventry University students respectively took turns to present the ideas about mobile applications. Carl Chinedu (Conventry student) had an idea of application that would help eldery be able to operate an application. Yashi Gupta had another idea to help tourists visiting Indonesia. Next is Kishan Gautam, described his application idea that linked to the artificial intelligence. Kelly Tarawally, had an application idea to reduce traffic jam in Indonesia. Indonesian team from the Fasilkom UI-PPL students, boarded their application ideas with name of application ‘pedagang keliling/the peddler,’ travel guide and voting applications for exhibition event.
